Sidney Smith grew up in Palos Verdes and is a senior at Palos Verdes High. She was a 4-time varsity starter for the Sea Kings and was team captain for three of those four years. She was named the best offensive player in 2015 and earned the PV High coach’s award in 2014 and 2016. Sidney played club volleyball for eight years and competed at Junior Nationals during most of those seasons winning gold medals in 2015 and 2017. She was also named to the Junior Nationals all tournament team in 2015. Over the course of her volleyball career, Sidney has contributed in many ways on the court. She began as a libero and then transitioned to the outside as a hitter; more recently she has been setting and playing opposite. She is very familiar with all aspects of the game.
This is Sidney’s 2nd year with the Surfside Volleyball Club. Last year she taught at clinics and assisted with the Surfside PV Juniors. Sidney is passionate about the game of volleyball and loves coaching and giving lessons. She is excited to be assisting with the 12 PV Legends and is looking forward to working with this talented and fun group of girls.
