Jaylin is from Torrance, California. She attended Torrance High School and graduated in 2015. After graduation Jaylin attended California State University, San Bernardino to continue her volleyball career. There she utilized her redshirt year and later decided that wasn’t the school for her and went back home to attend El Camino College.
At El Camino, she played under LeValley Patterson and Liz Hazel as an outside hitter. The lady warriors were the 2016 South Coast Conference Champions and Jaylin helped lead her team to a 3rd place finish at the state tournament hosted by Pierce College. That year, Jaylin was also named to the All-South Coast Conference South Division Second Team.
In 2017, Jaylin was named team captain and helped lead the lady warriors to the South Coast Conference Champion title for a 3rd year in a row. Jaylin also made the 2017 All-South Coast Conference South Division First Team. Unfortunately that year they were just shy of making the state tournament.
As for coaching, Jaylin has had the pleasure of getting to work with a variation of ages throughout her 3 years as a coach. From 2016-2018 she was coaching at Nfinity VBC where she worked as an assistant for the 13-1’s team, and the next year 14-1s team. In 2018-2019 she worked as the 17-1’s assistant coach under Randy Post at Momentous VBC where they had their best finish at the Summer Soirée taking 2nd place in the 18U Gold Division.
Currently, Jaylin serves as the head coach of the Frosh team at Mater Dei High School. She is happy to be joining the Surfside family and can’t wait to work with her new team.
