Hi Surfside family,
My name is Hayden Biernat, and I’ll be joining the Surfside staff for the 2022-23 season.
I was born and raised in Torrance. I graduated from Bishop Montgomery in 2016 and was a member of the volleyball program for 4 years. I went on to college at Baylor University, where I competed with the club volleyball program for 3 seasons and served as the president my senior year. Beyond volleyball, I bring years of experience to the table working with youth. I’ve worked in various youth programming capacities at Riviera Hall, Rolling Hills Covenant Church, and Chadwick with preschool-high school age groups.
I’m passionate about volleyball as a sport, but above all, I’m so thankful for the way that volleyball has impacted my personal development. I owe much of my work ethic, my discipline, and my team-oriented mindset to the time I spent in the gym and to the coaches that poured into me. I believe that we show up to the gym to be competitive and have fun, and if we do this right, we leave better people as a result.
I’m passionate about this sport and I’m passionate about the South Bay community. I’m excited to share this with Surfside this season. Let’s get to work!
