Tyler Reutgen's Experience

Tyler has been around volleyball since he was a child. His mom coached for years and also started a boys club team, Riptides Volleyball Club where he played for seven years. Tyler went to Redondo Union High School and played his freshman and junior year. After high school, Tyler attended El Camino College in Torrance California for his degree in Administration of Justice. He played with the team for one season and also swam for one season.

Tyler began coaching after high school and has never stopped. He loves the game of volleyball more than any other sport and regularly plays at the beach or anywhere he can find a court. He has coached boys and girls club teams of all ages. He was the volunteer assistant coach at Denver University for one year. This will be Tyler’s fifth year with Surfside. Last season, he previously has head coached our 5 MB Legends, assisted the 13 MB Legends who finished 7th in open at Nationals, and 12 MB Legends. He has previously been head coach of varsity boys at Vistamar School.

If Tyler is not coaching or playing volleyball you can find him on an adventure. He has hiked from Mexico to Canada on the PCT, cycled across America from New York to LA. His next trip he is currently training for is kayaking around Iceland. Tyler enjoys life and always tries to help others enjoy it too! Life’s about exploring the unknown, pursuing passions, and challenging limits.
