Kayla played volleyball for 13 years from the age of 7 to 20, including one year for Surfside coaches Julianna and Jon when she was 14. She graduated from El Camino Real Charter High School in Woodland Hills, where she was a four-year varsity volleyball player. She was a part of the 2015 undefeated CIF City Championship Team. After High School, Kayla continued her volleyball career in Chicago where she played for Trinity International University for two years. Kayla was known to her coaches and teammates for being a go-to utility player and has had the experience in playing every position on the court at one time or another. She earned MVP her senior volleyball season as well as first team all-city two years in a row as well as unofficially earning Most Competitive on multiple teams.
Kayla is currently studying at Los Angeles Pierce College to graduate with an AA in Behavioral Science and plans on continuing her education to receive her Bachelor of Science in Public Health. She was the head coach for the Frosh/Soph team at El Camino for the 2018 high school season, as well as the assistant varsity coach. Kayla looks forward to her first season at Surfside!
