Haley is entering her 2nd year coaching with Surfside as well as in her position on staff with Brent Crouch and the USC Women’s Volleyball program as the Director of Volleyball Operations.
Brightwell previously served as an assistant coach at Division II University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) for three seasons (2015-17) under head coach Ryan Young.
A native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she began her collegiate volleyball career at Division I Drake University before playing her final three seasons at UMSL, where she served as team captain in 2013 and 2014.
Brightwell holds two degrees from UMSL. She completed her undergraduate studies in business administration (with an emphasis in management) in 2014 and then received her master of business administration in digital and social media marketing in 2016.
Brightwell’s volleyball resume also includes time spent as head coach for the 17U High Performance STL squad. She helped lead the club to the 2018 Gateway League championship and a regional title.
