Erika has been involved in girls’ club volleyball for over 20 years. She was Club Director for South Bay Volleyball Club, and has coached for Surfside Volleyball Club for 23 years. She also coached at the high school level for both boys and girls at the California Academy of Math and Science, and started a new volleyball program for boys and girls at New Millennium Secondary School.
After graduating from college, Erika Stevens began her coaching career at Loyola Marymount University. In her third year as an Assistant Coach, LMU reached 6th in the nation in Division 1 rankings. Later, this team and coaching staff was inducted into the LMU Hall of Fame.
She played volleyball, soccer, and ran track for Mira Costa High School and was named Tri-Sport Athlete of the Year in 1990. Her 1989 MCHS volleyball team won CIF, State, and the National Championships, and she was named to the All-CIF and All-State teams as an outside hitter. She received a volleyball scholarship to Pepperdine University where she was named to the All-WCC Scholar-Athlete team, and graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Telecommunications. She lives in Manhattan Beach with her husband of 24 years, and two teenage daughters.
