Cecelia Lucas
13 MB Legends Assistant Coach
Cece was born in Portsmouth Virginia on a naval based and went on to live in Washington state, California, and Japan throughout my childhood. Her career in volleyball didn’t really start until her freshman year of high school when she tried out for the team at Rio Mesa High school in Oxnard California. From there on Cece spent three years on Varsity as a starting middle. She was named all conference both her Junior and Senior Year. And awarded MVP her senior year as well. Cece’s club journey also started after her freshman year of High School. She played her first year at a small club called Fresh Start, then moved the next year to Pacific View Volleyball Club. Cece finally found her home when she played for Rincon Volleyball Club in Ventura where she spent her Junior and Senior seasons. Her team set an SCVA record for the most consecutive first place finishes in pool play. She went on to play Division 2 College Volleyball at Cal State Dominguez Hills from 2015-2019. She spent all four years there as their starting middle blocker. In 2017 she tied the school record in 2 matches for block assists and in 2018 we became the winningest team in program history. Cece received her Degree in Child Development and is now working in Early Education.
This will be her second season coaching club. Last year Cece coached the 14’s team at Club Southbay. She has also coached several camps and clinics for both Club Southbay and USYVL over the past 3 summers. She is now assisting the current team at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
