Alex Woolsey Bio
Alex is 27 from Plano, Texas. She went to Plano East Senior High, finished in the
regional finals of the state tournament, was First Team All-District and Team MVP
her senior year. She also played volleyball for Texas Advantage Volleyball (TAV),
finishing 3 rd at Nationals in the 18 National Division. After her high school career,
Alex continued collegiately at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. She was
a 3-time First Team All LoneStar Conference selection, 2012 Southcentral All-Region
selection, 2010 & 2011 Southcentral Region Honorable Mention, 2012 LoneStar
Conference Setter of the Year, and 2012 AVCA Division II First Team All-American.
Her team also won the LoneStar Conference Championship her senior year for the
first time in 20 years. After her collegiate career, she played professionally for one
season in Odense, Denmark for Fortuna Odense, where her team finished with the
bronze medal. Alex took a year off of playing and in that time coached at TAV for one
season. She then played for two years at Northumbria University, where she
received her Master’s Degree in Newcastle, England. At Northumbria, her team won
both regular season titles, the 2016 University Championship, 2016 English
Volleyball Championship, 2017 Cup Final, and was the 2016 Cup Final MVP. Alex
lives in Culver City and as a newcomer to California, is very excited to soak up the
volleyball culture that comes with living in Southern California.
